Teaching

The GES course combines theoretical knowledge with practical application in cooperation with the Fraunhofer IEG. The Geothermal Systems 1 module teaches the geological fundamentals and engineering practice of drilling and reservoir methods for the underground sector. In the Geothermal Systems 2 module, students learn about industrial and municipal applications as well as project management for geothermal power, heat and cold generation.

A special feature of teaching at GES is the opportunity to access the laboratory infrastructure of the Fraunhofer IEG. This includes the energy technology heat pump laboratory for the Institute of Energy Technology of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. This enables exceptionally practical training.

The GES courses are taught in English and are therefore also attractive to many international students.
